Mohamed Fahmy sues employer Al Jazeera for $100 million

Mohamed Fahmy, the Egyptian-Canadian journalist on trial in Cairo, has filed a lawsuit against employer Al Jazeera in Canadian court accusing the network of negligence and is demanding $100 million in compensation, his lawyer said on Monday.
Fahmy, who spent more than 400 days in an Egyptian jail on charges of aiding a terrorist organisation, suggested Al Jazeera's actions landed him in jail. (CBC web page)
